Non surgical treatments
________Wrinkle reduction therapy
Expression wrinkles, which as years advance tend to become permanent on our face, can be dealt with the use of botulinum toxin. The toxin acts on the neuromuscular synapsis, reducing muscle contraction and as result reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It is mostly used in facial muscles, reducing vertical and horizontal forehead and glabellar wrinkles and lateral eye corner wrinkles (crow’s feet).
Treatment is indicated when expression wrinkles start becoming permanent, persisting when the face is relaxed. It is contraindicated in pregnancy/lactation.
Botulinum toxin can also be used in treating migraines and is particularly effective in hyperhidrosis treatment (axillary area, palms, soles).
Lip filler
The use of appropriate, low viscosity hyaluronic acid is particularly popular in reshaping lips and/or increasing their volume. The result is natural, and the filler application is performed after local anaesthetic cream application. After the application it is common to have some form of oedema +/- minor bruising which improves in the following days. Filler application can be performed gradually till the desired effect is achieved.
Fillers can also be used to help fill out marionette lines and improve facial profile via increase of zygomatic area volume.
Permanent hair removal
In our practice we offer permanent hair removal with the use of the advanced technology of Alexandrite Laser – Lutronic. Permanent hair removal with the use of laser at 755 nm offers significant hair reduction for the first session and is the most effective method of hair removal. It is relatively pain free – a minor feeling of pruritus +/- warmth might appear. It is ideal for darker hair and paler skin and is applicable equally to both men and women. It should be avoided when the skin is tanned (both naturally and solarium). Sessions should be every 4-6 weeks in order to target hair in anagen phase.
Microneedling
Microneedling is performed via multiple tiny needles and it improves skin quality via increased collagen production. This can help in improving scars (surgical or acne), striae marks and fine wrinkles while simultaneously generally improving skin texture. It can be combined with other techniques such as mesotherapy and the use of autologous products (PRP – platelet rich plasma) in order to address individual needs.
Profhilo
Profhilo is an injectable, based on hyaluronic acid, which can help with aging signs and increased skin laxity. It can be used both in the face and neck, improving the profile and skin quality and texture. It is described as “injectable hydration” and depending on the patient one to three sessions are required at monthly intervals.
Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is injectable treatment of active ingredients, aiming primarily at the dermis and it can target problems such as acne, skin colour irregularities, increased laxity and fine wrinkles. Mesotherapy can also be used for problems such as hair loss and cellulite. It is usually performed after application of a local anaesthetic cream.
